What is MASCOT?
Mykolayiv Artistic Summer Camp Of Teamwork (MASCOT) is a non-profit project. It gives an opportunity to 75 talented Ukrainian teenagers, aged 14-25, to open their minds, step out of their comfort zone and express themselves through critical thinking, individual expression, active citizenry. During the course of 9 days young individuals will be able not only to give way to their creativity, but also to learn and develop their personal and professional skills by means of non-formal education. In MASCOT campers are taught about creativity, arts, learn how to work with a team. Providing a safe, inspiring and challenging environment, we also conduct lessons on public speaking, project planning, conflict management. Every class and all the activities are conducted in English at all times. We give every student an opportunity to share, discuss and experiment. We also highly encourage all the participants to use English as a communication language during the camp. Our leaders support the campers in pro-active and challenging way. At the end of the camp all of the participants together organize a project, which they have been planning with their mentors during the camp. However, we must not forget that MASCOT is stll a summer camp, and therefore - it is much more than just training and studying. In our spare time we don’t just sit motionless. We play a variety of active games, organize a lot of activities, teambuilding and sport events. Every morning camp participants can visit one of the activities our camp offers: various gymnastics, running, yoga, basketball, workout, dancing. We also have many other unforgettable (and often even unique) things and events! Tournament of "Hee-Ha-Ho," a lot of challenges, photo shoots, presentations, quizzes. We also didn’t forget about some rest. We left a lot of time for our campers to spend on the beach to sunbathe or play in the water, throw Frisbee or play football, make a lot of pictures or just relax and talk to new friends. In Camp MASCOT we're aiming to create a fun, warm and welcoming atmosphere for communication, exchange of thoughts and experiences between our participants, and self-development. Here you'll meet wonderful people coming from different places and backgrounds, get new friends, and, most probably, some of the warmest memories of your summer.
P.S. At the end of the week every participant gets a certificate of completition, a t-shirt and a bracelet;)
