Leeds is a vibrant and historic city in the North of England. It is the largest financial and legal city outside of London, and is serviced by a major rail network to every major city in the United Kingdom. It also has it's own international airport.
Referred to as "Knightsbridge of the North", thanks to exclusive names such as Harvey Nichols, it is a major lifestyle city, with all the major brands and retailers vying for floorspace in the city. Leeds also has a varied social scene and is rich in culture.
Our courses, based in the heart of Leeds, aim to give you the confidence to get the most out of this exciting city, but more importantly, to give you the skills and knowledge to succeed in the future. Whether your ambitions are to take an exam, or simply just to study a new language, we can work together to make the language understandable, accessible and fun to learn.
Our qualified staff use official materials from publishers such as Cambridge University Press which are specifically written for exams such as IELTS, Cambridge and BULATS. We continue to improve and update our own knowledge of English and teaching by working with the British Council and English UK. Similarly, it is our ambition to achieve Accreditation status.
Our tutors are TEFL qualified and have a modern and engaging approach to teaching. With experience of teaching to Russian, Spanish, Hungarian and Ukrainian learners, as well as industry knowledge of retail, IT, aviation and engineering, we have an "outside the box" approach to teaching and communicating.
We have an extensive bank of material and worksheets - we find that some books explain the same subject in different ways, and that one method is better for one person than it is for the next person. However, our courses will follow 1 course book and we will use this throughout the duration of the course. It may be necessary, at times, that the tutor will use different materials, in order to give you the best service. This will be explained and shouldn't cause any disruption.
We welcome students from all nationalities and backgrounds. Unfortunately, we can not accept students under the age of 18, owing to insurance liabilities. However, we are happy to recommend a tutor if you are looking for tuition for a child or teenager. We also, unfortunately, can not provide supporting documentation for student visas, as we are not yet an accredited or recognised centre.
We provide "in-house" testing as a means of ability assessment and diagnosis, as well as an indicator of progress made throughout and at the end of the course. However, our courses are not directly affiliated with a testing body, such as IELTS, and as we are not yet affiliated with the British Council, we do not provide the official exams at the end of the course, which is reflected in the price of our courses. It is necessary for official exams to be arranged at one of the official testing centres, details of which will be provided if this applies to you.
At the end of your course, you will be presented with a "Certificate of Achievement" as recognition of the progress and success of your studies!
