Описание

.) With POWER OF THE DREAM the Russian singer Marina May (25) proudly presents her debut. May's influences ranges from Rock to R'n'B and dancefloor. She started to play piano at the age of six years, with 13 she performed live on stage with an orchestra. Just one year later she began to write songs with English lyrics. "I was round about five years old when i heard 'It Must Have Been Love' in the radio. It was a shock, in a positive way. I immediately told my mother that I will study music one day." And she did. All for her big dream. "I noticed that my skills weren't good enough, so I worked harder. Three years ago I felt that I was ready to start working on THE POWER OF THE DREAM." Which was complicated, because Marina lived in Milan at this time, to visit the famous "Bevoice" school for learning new techniques in singing and playing the guitar, while her producer lived in Moscow. "We had to take a lot of breaks. But I wanted to work with the well known producer Nikolay Gavziluk, who helped me a lot to arrange the songs." Marina, who speaks Italian, English, Spanish and German beside her first language Russian, says: I was influenced by musicians from the USA and Europe. I love Bon Jovi, Savage Garden, Roxette, Michael Jackson, Oasis and Coldplay, to name but a few. Therefore it was logical for me to record in Europe." The final work on the album was done in Braunschweig, Germany. THE POWER OF THE DREAM was produced by Sascha Höhm (Eisbrecher, among others). Mix and mastering was done by Sven Bonse (Reamonn, Silbermond) May about her music: "Beside some electronically experiments I use a lot of soft rock parts. In my opinion most of the actual artists sound too similar. In the beginning of the nineties there were a lot of more interesting newcomers." Marina May is here to change this. Even if it will be a long way to the top. "I see myself as an artist. I prefer to play for 100 real fans instead of thousands who just consuming my music. I want to leave my marks." A big goal. But it is only the most courageous who follow their own path in life. "I listen to a lot of different music. It ranges from classic to pop and rock. I study the arrangements of these artists. And I still practise the guitar to get better. I have so much respect for performers who bring people closer together just with an instrument."
